According to network sources, Megan McTavish has inked a deal that will allow her to continue on as head writer of All My Children. Some AMC fans are upset that McTavish will remain in place because of a controversial baby-stealing storyline currently unfolding.
McTavish has an extensive history with All My Children, having started off as an associate head writer in 1987, a position she served in for the next five years. She was then elevated to head writer in 1992 and remained in that position through 1995. Following a two-year break from the show, she returned to All My Children in 1997 as head writer. During her two-year reign as the show's head writer, McTavish earned two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series.
An ABC spokesperson declined to comment on McTavish's contract with the show.
