In 1989, Sean Kanan burst onto the Hollywood scene as Mike Barnes in Karate Kid III, the second sequel to the Ralph Macchio hit that helped define movie culture in the '80s. Decades later, we saw The Bold and the Beautiful's Deacon demonstrate his skills with his adult daughter, Hope, as Kanan also brought Mike Barnes back to life on the series Cobra Kai, based on the Karate Kid movies.
Now, Kanan is ready to take the physical and spiritual skills he has learned from his years of practicing martial arts and present them in a seminar on April 28.
The actor, who is also the author of the book The Way of the Cobra, is teaming up with Keith Winkle, founder of Inspire Martial Arts, for a seminar called Unlock Your Hidden Potential. According to a media release, the event is meant to help people with "harnessing inner strength and achieving personal mastery."
Those who attend will also find autographed copies of Kanan's book, as well as other memorabilia.
Unlock Your Hidden Potential will take place at Inspire Martial Arts, 175 E Olive Ave, Burbank, CA, on Sunday, April 28, from 2-4 PM PST. You can find ticket information here.
The Way of the Cobra was recently awarded a prize for "Best Motivational Book" by the International Impact Book Awards.
The actor will also be putting his stand-up comedy talents into action on March 16 at The Comedy Chateau in Hollywood.
Kanan became known to soap fans in 1993 when he debuted as A.J. Quartermaine on General Hospital. He also appeared as Jude Cavanaugh on Sunset Beach before becoming Deacon Sharpe on B&B in 2000. Through the years, he has come and gone from both B&B and The Young and the Restless as Deacon. He also reprised A.J. from 2012 to 2014.
