An extended trailer for OWN's upcoming drama Queen Sugar is heating up the Internet, and soap opera fans are drooling over their first glimpse of daytime alum Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady; ex-Lucky Spencer, General Hospital; ex-Diego Guttierrez, The Young and the Restless) in his new role.
Based on a novel of the same name by Natalie Baszile, Queen Sugar tells the story of two sisters -- Charely Bordelon (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) and Nova Bordelon (Rutina Wesley) - who inherit a sugar cane farm. Vaughan, who departed Salem earlier this year, plays a married cop named Calvin who's having an affair with Nova.
Oprah Winfrey will have a recurring role on the series, and other stars include Kofi Siriboe, Tina Lifford, Omar Dorsey, Dondre Whitfield (ex-Terrence Frye, All My Children), and Timon Kyle Durrett.
Watch the trailer for Queen Sugar below, and tune in for the series' OWN debut on Tuesday, September 6.
