Days of our Lives fans are thrilled to have Nadia Bjorlin back in the role of Chloe Lane, but questions are still buzzing about whether the powers that be have planned for her return to Salem to be short term or (fingers crossed) long term. Unfortunately, the actress herself doesn't even know the answer to that question, reporting that though she and the NBC soap had been talking about a contract back in February, the COVID-19 pandemic put a pause on any contract talks.
"Now, that's on hold. We don't have a start date yet," she tells Soap Opera Digest of her contract and filming status, which was reportedly a go back in February.
However, though Bjorlin's contract status seemingly hasn't been ironed out, the powers that be did tell the actress what they have in mind for Chloe when the show resumes production, which is currently scheduled for September.
"I was given a vague [forecast]. I was told, 'You'll probably be working with Jay Johnson [Philip Kiriakis],'" Bjorlin reveals. "I was like, 'Oh, that's amazing.' We grew up together on the show. Just watching those flashbacks when we were doing the app -- we were such babies."
As Soap Central previously reported, Jay Kenneth Johnson is set to reprise his role as Philip on Tuesday, August 18. Longtime fans may recall that the character was a part of the teen scene of Salem back when characters like Chloe, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), and Belle Brady (Martha Madison) were in high school.
No matter what storyline is in store for the future, Bjorlin reports that she's thrilled to get back to work as Chloe.
"I'm really excited to go back to the show," she shares. "DAYS is one of those places where it doesn't matter how much time has elapsed, when you walk through those doors it's like you never left. That's a nice thing. You always feel like you belong. It's like a good friend you haven't talked to for a while, but you pick up exactly where you left off. That's how it feels working there."
