Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine) shared a bit of good news and bad news with fans on Twitter
"So not ideal news for #thelyinggame [the ABC Family show in which he co-stars] it appears that a decision [on its renewal] won't be made until mid summer," Christopher wrote. "Thanks for all your support... in the meantime I'll still be hanging around #portcharles."
Christopher made a surprise return to General Hospital in March as part of the lead-up to the show's big 50th anniversary storylines.
Christopher originated the role of Nikolas in July 1996. He exited the show in 1999, but returned in 2003 as part of an eight-year run with the show.
During his run with General Hospital, Christopher has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy three times: Outstanding Younger Actor in 1998, and Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2005 and 2006.
