Contrary to its name, the new horror film Nightmare Cinema is the stuff dreams are made of. Not only is the creepy anthology rumored to be coming out just in time for Halloween, but it stars General Hospital's Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) as a priest!
Nightmare Cinema features five separate scary stories linked by one that stars Mickey Rourke as a mysterious man named "The Projectionist" who brings viewers' most intense fears to life on the silver screen in his dilapidated theater. Not much is known about Benard's role, other than it may have viewers screaming "Oh. My. GOD!"
"Come see me in a role that will chill you to the bone," the actor teases of his gig as Father Benedict. "So excited for Nightmare Cinema to come out. It was amazing and difficult to play a priest."
All My Children alum Eric Nelsen (ex-A.J. Chandler) also stars as Fred the Welder in the film that features horror masters Mick Garris, Joe Dante, David Slade, Ryuhei Kitamura, and Alejandro Brugues as directors.
"Get ready to be horrified!" Nelsen tweeted about the project, which he also mentions in his Twitter profile with the tease: "You'll see Mickey Rourke and I do some crazy stuff."
