General Hospital fans are looking forward to the day Dominic Zamprogna makes his big return as Dante Falconeri. There wasn't a firm wrap-up to the character's story when he left town for an important mission last year, and viewers who fell in love with the character during his nine years in Port Charles are eager to see Dante's loose ends not just tied up, but tied up with a big, fat, gorgeous bow.
As it turns out, GH's executive producer, Frank Valentini, feels the same way, which is why he asked Zamprogna to return for a short-term storyline to wrap things up.
"[Frank] felt kind of bad the way we had left things for fans, as far as the character, where he was, why he hadn't come back, and how he'd sort of abandoned his family," Zamprogna says in the recent issue of Soap Opera Digest.
How Dante's story and his relationship with Lulu (Emme Rylan) will come to an end remains a mystery, but GH co-head writer Shelly Altman tells Soaps In Depth that there is certainly a lot of drama ahead.
"Dante left town so suddenly, and he never expected to be gone as long as long as he has been. We've seen signs of the friction that this is causing," Altman teases. "It certainly seems safe to say that he and Lulu will have to deal with the ramifications of his decision."
As Soap Central previously reported, viewers can look forward to Zamprogna's return to GH sometime in late March.
