Temporary recasts are becoming more and more common on General Hospital, which has yet again had to find a replacement for a cast member. This time, viewers will see a new face in the role of Brando Corbin, who's normally played by actor Johnny Wactor. Soap Opera Digest reports that Yellowstone star Brad Schmidt is stepping into the shoes of the character for a few episodes.
Of course, to many soap opera fans, Schmidt isn't really a new face -- before he moved into primetime, he played the 2002 role of Todd on Guiding Light and the 2002 role of Anthony Peterson on As the World Turns.
At this time, it's unclear why Wactor had to step away from GH or exactly how long he'll be gone. No matter the case, Schmidt certainly has his work cut out for him, as Brando's storyline has been pretty intense these past few weeks. He and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) recently made the heartbreaking choice to take their newborn son off of life support, and though the couple decided to marry, Sasha, who's had drug addiction issues in the past, has since turned to pills to help her deal with the loss of her child.
Some of GH's recent temporary recasts include Holly Kaplan stepping in for Leslie Charleson (Monica Quartermaine), Priscilla Garita stepping in for Inga Cadranel (Harmony Miller), Damien Leake taking over for Robert Gossett (Marshall Ashford), Lindsay Hartley taking over for Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall), and Stephanie Erb stepping in for Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis).
