Congratulations are in order for CBS Daytime, which completed the 2014-2015 broadcast year in the number one position -- for the 29th year in a row.
But not only did the network's two soaps pull in the largest numbers of all daytime dramas, both delivered their best ratings in several years.
Y&R managed to average 5.21 million viewers, which is a one percent increase from last year and its largest audience since the 2009-2010 television season. Meanwhile, B&B pulled in an average of 3.94 total viewers, up two percent since last year and the show's largest audience since 2005-2006.
In case you are wondering what else was going on back when CBS Daytime first reached the top spot back in 1986: the hot Halloween costume for young girls was She-Ra and kids everywhere were asking Santa for the first Nintendo Entertainment System.
Y&R is co-executive produced by Jill Farren Phelps and Charles Pratt, with Pratt serving as head writer. Bradley P. Bell serves both as B&B's executive producer and head writer.
