Bedford, N.Y., Melissa Claire Egan grew up with an extensive background in musical theatre, singing and dancing. She took a multitude of classes in New York City as a child and she began booking national television commercials. She was also signed by the Ford Modeling Agency.
Egan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Dramatic Arts. During college, she appeared in many plays, including "Marvin's Room," "How I Learned to Drive," "The Birthday Party" and "Pippin." She also studied Shakespeare at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.
Upon graduating college, Egan began to act professionally. She played Annie McDermott on "All My Children" from June 2006 through February 2011. Her additional television credits include CRIMINAL MINDS, on the Network, "Bones," "Men at Work," "One Tree Hill" and "Dawson's Creek." She also starred in the independent films "Wrestling" and "The Marriage Counselor."
Egan was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the Best Supporting Actress category in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Egan's hobbies include attending plays and musicals, dancing, choreographing, writing, playing tennis, swimming, practicing yoga, going to sporting events, taking road trips, enjoying happy hour with friends and relaxing with her family. She serves as a spokesperson for the skin care product Proactiv Solution.
