Born and raised in Newcastle Upon Tyne, in the north east of England, James Scott went to boarding school for boys in Lancaster, Lancashire, until the age of 16 when he left home and moved to Edinburgh where he embraced the arts in a city famous for its fringe theatre and arts.
Mr. Scott began his career working in the music Industry promoting clubs and DJ-ing in Edinburgh, Newcastle, York and London. He began acting in community theatre in York and shortly after moved to London to be nearer to the heart of the theatre community, where he studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).
While in London, he began modeling which brought him to the Unites States, spending an average on one week a month there. During a modeling trip to Los Angeles, he audited an acting class at the Ivana Chubbuck studio in Hollywood. The class inspired him to save money and make the move to Los Angeles and study acting for two years before being cast on All My Children, his first television job in the U.S.
