It hasn't been long since Alicia Coppola (ex-Meredith Gates) departed The Young and the Restless' Genoa City, and she has already found post-daytime success.
Deadline reports that the actress has joined Showtime's hit drama Shameless in a recurring capacity. She'll play the role of Sue, described as "a blue collar, no-nonsense woman who works with Ian Monaghan as the supervisor of a group of EMTs."
Coppola -- who's also known for her role on the cult favorite Jericho and just finished shooting a role in Cowgirl's Story -- joins series stars William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum for the seventh season of Shameless, which premieres on Sunday, October 2, on Showtime.
Meanwhile, at least one of Coppola's Y&R co-stars misses her dearly. Check out this heartfelt message that one shared.
