Get ready to see Kelly Sullivan (ex-Sage Warner, The Young and the Restless; ex-Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri, General Hospital) as you've never seen her before.
The former daytime actress has shed her soap opera past and is now the star of the Tyler Perry series Too Close To Home, which debuts tonight on TLC. And her role as Bonnie, a diner waitress/mother of four who lives in a rundown trailer park in Happy, Alabama, seems like it will dish out more drama than her GH and Y&R roles combined. Just take for example that Bonnie's youngest sister, Shelby (Brooke Anne Smith), is a hopeless drug addict, and her middle sister, Anna (Danielle Savre), is at the center of a sex scandal that drives her out of the city and back home to Happy.
"Tyler is bringing light to a part of the country we don't get to see on television," Sullivan tells TV Insider of the series. "Bonnie and her family represent the forgotten ones, people who have been dealt a really rough hand in life, people who don't have a voice. And that is a big part of America."
Check out a preview of Too Close To Home below, and be sure to tune in to TLC tonight at 9/8C to catch the two-hour world premiere of the network's first ever scripted series.
